Financial monitoring Center, RA Central Bank and RA Justice Academy signed a Memorandum on Mutual Understanding and Cooperation

ArmInfo. Within the prupose  of struggle against  money laundering and  terrorism funding,  the  Financial monitoring Center, RA Central Bank and RA Justice Academy  have  signed a Memorandum on Mutual Understanding and Cooperation

According to the information, shared to ArmInfo by the Justice  Academy, the cooperation assumes the creation of  the appropriate  program and training course, based on international regulatory  framework and domestic documents regarding struggle against terrorism  funding and  white washing. That will increase the professional level  of the students of Academy. Within the framework of joint work a  remote education is also planned. 

According to the source, a press conference was held on the same day,  which was dedicated to the issue of "Money laundering case", within  the participation of the legislative system of RA, National Security  Service, Police, RA General  Prosecutor's Office, Interpol Armenian  OfficState Revenues Committee, RA Central bank Monitoring Center etc. 

Daniel Azatyan, the Head of the Central Bank Monitoring Center, paid  an importance to sucvh events, accentuating that signing this   Memorandum is an essential step forward in the struggle against money  laundering. 

In his turn, Sergey Araqelyan, the Justice Academy  Head,  mentioned:"I hope that today's and upcoming events  within our  cooperation will become a big deal for this issue. Proceeding of a  lack of knowledge in this field, it is planned   to include in the  nearest future into  the educational program of the Academy also the  courses regarding terrorism funding and money laundering."

During the conference participants discussed a range of issues in  respect to money laundering and exchanged opinions in respect to  practical and regulatory obstacles, studied court documents due to  money laundering cases within domestic and international practices.

To note, the Justice Academy has been established by the Government  Decision on September 13, 2013.  The academy took  the role to  educate and to train the staff of courts and entities on  investigation. The Academy  performs  its activities in a full range  from January 1,2014
