ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, exclusive partner of AMEX in Armenia, launches issue of American Express Gold and American Express Blue contactless chip cards

ArmInfo. ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, exclusive partner of American Express in Armenia, launches issue of American Express Gold and American Express Blue contactless chip cards, which are more convenient and safe in use. The press-service of the Bank has told ArmInfo that contactless technology allows you to pay simply by tapping your Card against a contactless enabled terminal. If the payment sum does not exceed 10 thousand AMD there is no need to enter the card into terminal, enter PIN- code and sign the bill.

At the same time the new cards will have magnetic stripe, which will allow making payments by other terminals that are not contactless enabled yet.

Introduction of this technology in Armenia is a significant step in development of innovative methods of payments. In order to replace American Express Gold and American Express Blue cards with contactless ones the client should apply to ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank, particularly the branch that had issued the card or fill in on-line application on https://www.acba.am/hy/online-applications/Card-applications/card-replacement. One does not need to repay credit line in order to replace the card. To note, ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank has been cooperating with American Express since 2009 when it became exclusive partner of AMEX in Armenia. In 2010 the Bank issued first AMEX-American Express Gold cards including wide package of additional services. In 2011 American Express Blue was issued and in 2014 the third type of cards, AMEX-American Express Cashback, was issued.
