GDCA Head in Brussels plans to discuss a number of aviation sector issues

ArmInfo. Sergey  Avetisyan, the Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation under  the Government of Armenia, and the delegation he leads, will  participate in the 46th session of Temporary Council of "Eurocontrol"  in Brussels no December 1-2.  According to the press office of  GDCA,  within the framework  of 46th session a discussion on number of  important practice, financial and managerial  issues.

Armenia became a member of  this organization in 2006

To mention, the main objective of the European organization on air  navigation security is the development of united European system of  air traffic in the framework of Clean Sky Joint. The organization  comprises 41 members, with the head office in Brussels.  What is to  the opportunity of Armenia's joining the Clean Sky Joint, the  terms  of that joining were postponed several times. During the meeting  of  Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian  with Federica Mogherini,  the Armenian Foreign Minister stated that Armenia is ready to sign  the appropriate Agreement  with EU.

The document, beside  setting  flights security rules  and  certification procedures, cancels the limitations in respect to  flights of foreign carriers in Armenia.  This will open an  opportunity to attract European companies to Gyumri, particularly   budget based air companies. Second, this liberalization will allow to  secure fair and honest competition at international level.

This means an integration  into European air  market, Armenian  companies exit to international markets and establishment of transit  zone in Armenia in respect to air transport.
