By November 2016 deposits in Armenian banks exceeded 2.1 trillion AMD, with a 17.3% year-over-year growth

ArmInfo. By November 1,  2016, the deposits in the Armenian banks grew by 17.3% (up 11.5% in  Jan-Oct 2016) to 2.176 trillion AMD. In the total amount of deposits,  forex deposits prevailed over AMD ones - 64.8% and 35.2%,  respectively. According to the National Statistical Service of  Armenia, the forex component in the deposits rose by 10.9% (up 3.9%  since early 2016) to 1.410 trillion AMD, while the AMD component grew  by 31.5% (up 28.9% since early 2016) to 765.5 bln AMD. 

The share of residents' deposits in the banks made up 76.6% or 1.667  trillion AMD (15.8% year-over-year growth and 11% rise since early  2016), with the share of non-residents being 23.4% or 508.7 bln AMD  (22.6% year-over-year growth and 13.2% growth since early 2016).

In the structure of the residents' deposits, the share of call  deposits made up 27.7% or 461.7 bln AMD, with the share of time  deposits being 72.3% or 1.2 trillion AMD. Call deposits grew by 4.9%  over the year (up 2.5% since early 2016), and time deposits rose by  20.7% over the year (up 14.6% since early 2016). 

By November 2016, the household deposits in Armenian banks totaled  1.1 trillion AMD (13.6% year-over- year growth, 8.7% growth since  early 2016). 

In October 2016, the interest rate of AMD deposits was 10.69% versus  15.22% a year before and 13.33% in early 2016. (On 31 Oct 2016, the  AMD/USD exchange rate was 475.14 AMD/$1).
