ArmInfo. Tariffs on services of ''Zvartnots'' International Airport are competitive on the regional level, Head of General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia Sergey Avetisyan stated today at the press conference on the results of 2016.
However, according to the Head of GDCA Yerevan ''Zvartnots'' airport is much better compared to the airports of neighboring countries. "The best costs the most'', the official stated. At the same time talking about the price policy of the Yerevan airport Avetisyan stated that tariffs on services are not so high to influence the process of ticket price formation. "Tariffs of the airport are not so high to cause passengers' concerns'', Avetisyan stated, emphasizing that prices on tickets will drop.
To note, price policy of Zvartnots airport has been harshly criticized by the experts of the country, while the managers of the airport do not admit the fact. At this background according to official data within the recent 3 years representative offices of 16 international airline companies were closed and offices of 10 were opened. Such giants of world aviation as Czech Airlines and Etihad Airways have left Armenia, while the number of companies from Russia and CIS grew. Airport earns money from almost everything causing inconveniences for people. Thus, in order to take a luggage carrier passenger has to pay a dollar, while in other international airports this service is free. In June 2002 Zvartnots Airport was transferred to concession of Armenia International Airports CSJC owned by Argentinean entrepreneur Eduardo Eurnekian.
