Armenian Agriculture Ministry: Export of fruits and vegetables have  grown since the beginning of 2017

ArmInfo. Since the beginning of  2017 2300 tons of fruits and vegetables have been exported from  Armenia versus 1300 tons in the same period of 2016, Deputy Minister  of Agriculture of Armenia Robert Makaryan stated today after the  government's session. 

According to him the growth was ensured mainly due to rise of export  of grape from cold rooms and greenhouse tomatoes. Russia remains the  main market for exported Armenian agricultural products-85%. 

According to the data of the Agriculture Ministry as of December 21  2016 as many as 50 companies procuring grapes purchased 109.8 thsd  tons of grapes. The average procurement price of grapes was 128.8 AMD  per 1 kg, which is 16.3 AMD lower than in 2015 In 2016, procurement  of fruit and vegetables totaled 7 bln AMD. 6.3 bln AMD or 83.6% of  this amount was paid. 11.8 bln AMD out of 14 bln 145 mln AMD was paid  for the grapes.
