In 2016 cargo traffic in Armenia increased by 85.3% amid passenger  traffic decrease by 1.3%

ArmInfo. In 2016, cargo  traffic in Armenia increased by 85.3% versus 2015, and totaled  20485.2thsd tons, including 16248.8thsd tons (79.3% of  total cargo  traffic) in motor transportation, which grew 2.4-fold , according to  the National Statistical Service of  Armenia.

According to NSS in 2016, railway traffic grew by 3.1% to 2 610.9thsd  tons, air traffic rose by 79.4% to 18.3thsd tons. The natural gas  supplied through the main pipeline made up 1607.2thsd tons, 2.3% less  than in 2015. The cargo turnover grew by 3.7% to 3883.4mln tons/km.

The passenger traffic dropped by 1.3% to 206277.6thsd people. The  passenger operations by car fell by 2.5% to 182617.6thsd people and  those by electrical transport fell by 0.7% to 21190.2thsd people,  while passenger traffic by rail and by air rose by 1.6% to 352thsd  people and by 10.4% to 2117.8thsd people, respectively. The passenger  turnover increased by 2.9% to 2597.7mln passengers per/km.
