ArmInfo. At present, the ideas in Armenia's environmental sector total 420 mln USD, including 185 mln USD in specific investment projects, Armenian Nature Protection Minister Artsvik Minasyan said at today's press conference.
He said that in 2017 as many as 25 investment programs will be implemented to settle the environmental problems. In addition, the Ministry is planning to create two national parks in Jermuk and Tatev at the expense of grant funds. 130 thsd USD grant funds will be raised to effectively use the subsoil water of Ararat Valley.
To promote eco-tourism in Armenia, a bridge and a cableway will be built in Garni Gorge. By preliminary estimates, the project will allow generating 5 mln EUR funds.
Minasyan said that the Ministry will keep a close watch on the waste disposal situation and will implement a relevant project.
