Armenian textile producing entities hope to expand activities with the state help

ArmInfo. "The  light industries  sector has  a large  development potential," Souren Karayan, the  Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia stated at  the meeting with textile industry entities representatives on April  12.. 

According to the information shared with ArmInfo by the press office  of the Ministry, Souren Karayan mentioned that the light industry  sector has a great development  potential and is extremely important  from the point of employment  expansion.      

In this context, Souren Karayan  offered the representatives of the  sector to submit their investment projects to the Ministry  to  discuss the possible formats of cooperation and taking appropriate  decisions. "The representatives of textile entities discussed a  number of sector related issues with the Minister, particularly the   items related to staff training and education, with raw materials  import and others," The entity information reads.  

According to the Economic Development and Investments Ministry data,  in first three quarters of 2016 the light industries sector  of  Armenia showed  essential growth - the clothes production increased  for 32%, shoes and leather goods - for 26%. The dropdown is fixed  only in the sector of textile production - for 6%.
