The cargo transportation volumes in Armenia in QI of 2017 increased for 88,9% per annum - up to 6 049,8 thousand tons, versus that of 62, 9% a year ago. 4.860.2 thousand tons of that (80, 3% of total volume) is due to vehicle transportations, which is 2,3 times more than the same indicator of last year. This is stated in the report of the National Statistics Service of the Republic of Armenia.
According to statistics data, the railway cargo transportation for the reported period decreased for 3,1% - down to 584,3 tons. Air cargo transportation increased for 77,8% - up to 4,8 thousand tons. The volume of natural gas delivered through the pipeline formed 600,5 thousand tons, which is 28,5% more than the similar indicator of the last year. The cargo turnover increased for 22,6% - up to 1 246.9 mln tons/kilometers.
Passenger transportations for the reported period decreased for 6,1% - down to 47.122.1 thousand persons. At that, vehicle transportations increased for 6,6% up to 41,981 thousand persons, and railway transportation - for 5,7%. The air transportationof passengers increased for 23% - up to 480,2 thousand.
The passenger turnover decreased fo 2,8% - down to 595, 9 mln passenger-km.
