According to Mkrtchyan, the trade turnover between the two countries is so small that the National Statistical Service last time cited data on it for the end of 2015, according to which this indicator was fixed at $ 390 thousand - Armenia's export amounted to $ 387 thousand, and from Tajikistan to Armenia - $ 4 thousand. Armenia exported mainly medicines used in veterinary medicine and jewelry to Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, according to the expert, the foreign trade turnover can be expanded to several million USD. "There are quite good gold mines in Tajikistan, technological opportunities of refineries, this gold is mainly deposited, we offer a certain part of this gold, provide Armenia with a tolling scheme - we will recycle it and return it in the form of jewelry. We both will be winners," Gagik Mkrtchyan said.
