AMD weakened to the dollar by 1.1% in Armenia in May 2017 versus the  background of annual inflation of 1.6%

ArmInfo. Inflation in the consumer  market in Armenia in Jan-May 2017 was 2.1% followed by a devaluation  of  AMD to the dollar by 0.1%, while a year ago, consumer prices  decreased by 0.6% while strengthening AMD to the dollar by 0.9%. In  May 2017, compared to May 2016, inflation of 1.6% was accompanied by  a devaluation of AMD to the dollar by 1.1%.

According to National Statistics Service of Armenia, only for May AMD  was revalued versus the dollar by 0.4% with deflation of 0.2%. In May  2017, the average calculated rate was 483.4 AMD / $ 1, against  478.37AMD  / $ 1 in May 2016, 480.2 AMD / $ 1 - in May 2015 and  413.32 AMD / $ 1 - in May 2014.  - To note, at the retail foreign  exchange market of Armenia, AMD versus the dollar formed by June 19,  2017 at the level of 481.5 AMD / $ 1 on average, against 484 AMD / $  1 as of December 31, 2016 and 476 AMD / $ 1 as of June 19, 2016.
