ArmInfo. Within the framework of the Engineering Forum of the exhibition, which took place on June 24 at the Vanadzor Technology Center, the young technology company UAV Lab (Unmanned Aero Vehicle), which began operations on the Armenian market in 2016, unveiled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
In a conversation with the correspondent of ArmInfo, UAV Lab radio technician Ivan Melnikov noted that UAV Lab drones are more mobile due to the fact that electricity is used as a traction in transport, whereas existing analogues in the Armenian market have a gasoline engine that has its minuses and a similar unmanned vehicle Somewhat capricious in exploitation, he remarked.
As presented products at the Engineering Forum-Exhibition, UAV Lab presented 4 models of UAVs, 3 of which can be held in the air for more than 2 hours, and depending on the purpose of launching, it is possible to fix a payload, in particular a video camera, a thermo camera, etc. According to I. Melnik 2 models fly from the catapult, the third model of the UAV is stationary, which requires a take-off strip. As the fourth model, the company introduced the Copter, or as I. Melnik noted , which has 4 engines, 2 chambers and the ability to secure up to 4 kg of payload. In the air, the Copter can stay for 20-25 minutes depending on the weather conditions, and the range of action is up to 8 km, depending on the terrain. "The advantage of the Copter is that it can take off and land from any point where there is an area of 3 square meters and sit on any surface, because it descends on a parachute," he explained. Radio technician UAV Lab noted that all the models that are presented at the forum have already passed internal tests. According to him, these drones are used today mainly in civilian spheres, in particular for monitoring of land, analysis of the terrain, the state of gas pipelines, etc., and their implementation is still only in the domestic market.
At the same, Melnyk noted that 50-60% of local parts are used for assembly of UAV models, the rest volume is imported due to strict criteria on technical parameters. "Today we are working on improving the electronic filling. We want to increase the volume of domestic parts in the assembly of models, rather than supply them from other countries, "he concluded.
