ArmInfo. Armenia is negotiating with Russia on obtaining a new military loan, the head of the Armenian Ministry of Finance Vardan Aramyan told reporters on July 17 at a press conference.
According to Aramyan, negotiations are held on the given issue but on the current stage the minister refused to give any additional information. He also told the amount of loan and noted that the negotiations began in this year. "Ministry of Defense knows the details", the minister said. As of today, as the minister said, out of the $ 200 million defense loan from Russia, it remains to master about 30 million. In 2016, the Russian government and the Armenian authorities signed an agreement on granting the state a state export loan in the amount of up to $ 200 million for ten years with deferred payments before the start 2018. Armenia purchases launchers of the Smerch multiple rocket launcher and its ammunition, Igla-S air defense missile systems, Avtobaz-M ground-based electronic intelligence systems, heavy TOS-1A flamethrower systems with transport- Charging vehicles, guided missiles 9M113M, RPG-26 grenade launchers, Dragunov sniper rifles, Tiger armored vehicles, engineering facilities and communications equipment. The report says that the list can be changed by mutual written consent between the Federal Service for Military- Technical Cooperation and the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. The credit is used by the Armenian side to finance up to 90% of the cost of each of the contracts for the supply of products with settlements in RUR. Advances are at least 10% of the cost of each contract and are made by the Armenian side in favor of Russian authorized organizations in Russian rubles. It should be noted that according to the experts there were problems in connection with the delay in the implementation of the agreement.
