Volume of cargo transportation in Armenia in the first half of 2017  increased by 47.7% per annum with the decline in passenger traffic by  4%

ArmInfo.  The volume of cargo  transportation in Armenia in the first half of 2017 to the same  period in 2016 increased by 47.7% (against the growth of 90% a year  earlier), amounting to 12 898.9 thousand tons. 10,613 thousand tonnes  (82.3% of the total) accounted for road transport with an annual  growth of 56.4%. This is evidenced by the data of the National  Statistical Service of Armenia.

According to statistical data, rail freight traffic for the reporting  period increased by 9.9% - to 1 341.9 thousand tons. Air  transportation also increased - by 68.8% - to 10.8 thousand tons. The  main pipeline supplied 933.2 thousand tons of natural gas, which is  29.7% more than the same period last year. Freight turnover increased  - by 24.2% - to 2 161.9 million tone-km.

Passenger traffic for the reporting period decreased by 4% - up to  98,900.8 thousand people. With a decrease in road transport by 4.58%  - up to 87,402.4 thousand people, rail transportation by 4.2% - to  148.4 thousand people, transportation of passengers by electric  transport has not changed - 10 256 thousand people, and passenger  transportation increased by 29 , 3% - up to 1,094 thousand people.  Passenger turnover increased by 0.2% to 1268.1 million passengers-km.
