In structure of deposits in Armenian banks, AMD component increased  by 33.2%, while currency component grew by 14.2%

ArmInfo. The volume of  deposits attracted by Armenian banks increased by an annualized rate  of 20.7%, reaching 2.426 trillion AMD by July 1, 2017 ($ 5 billion),  but only for the II quarter - by 0.5%.

According to the Central Bank data, provided by the National  Statistical Service of Armenia, in the structure of deposits, the  currency component grew by 14.2% to 1.519 trillion AMD a year, and  AMD - by 33.2% to 906.4 billion. The share of foreign currency  deposits in the total volume of bank deposits traditionally prevails  over the share of dram deposits - 62.6% and 37.4%, respectively.

In the banking sector, the share of residents was 75.3% or 1.826  trillion (with annual growth of 15.5%, and only in the second quarter  by 1.3%), and not residents - 24.7% or 599.3 billion (with an annual  growth of 39.7% and for the quarter - a decline By 2.1%).

In the structure of deposits from residents, the share of demand  deposits was 28.2% or 515.9 billion, while the share of term deposits  - 71.8% or 1.310 trillion AMD. Demand deposits increased by 15.1% on  an annual basis, and only in the second quarter by 3.2%. Term  deposits increased by 15.6% per annum, and for the II quarter - by  0.6%.

Population's deposits in Armenian banks by July 2017 reached 1.212  trillion, having increased by 15.6% year-on-year.

According to statistical data, average interest rates on AMD deposits  by July 2017 were formed at the level of 9.10%, against 12.81% a year  earlier. (The calculated exchange rate of the AMD to the USD as of  30.06.17 - 480.47 AMD/USD1.)
