ArmInfo. Investment projects in the Tavush district of Armenia worth 1,360 billion AMD and 1 million dollars at the completion stage. Head of the regional administration Hovik Abovyan told the Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan on September 15.
In particular, according to the governor, investment projects for 600 million AMD in the Getahovit community, AMD 100 million in Ijevan, 160 million AMD and 1 million dollars in Yenokavan and 500 million AMD in Ayrum are at the stage of completion.
Textile production, created as part of the investment program in the Berd district, has now provided employment to 450 local residents. In 2018, their number is planned to be increased to 1500. In general, as Abovyan noted, as a result of the implementation of the planned programs, it is planned to create 4000 workplaces.
It is also planned to build 10 new reservoirs. The program is estimated at 8.508 billion AMD, which will significantly expand the area of irrigated land.
As Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan stressed, these programs should be implemented on the basis of public-private partnership. At the same time, as the prime minister noted, he instructed the Armenian Development Fund to render every assistance in their implementation.
To note, in Q1 2017, foreign investments in the volume of the order of more than $ 1.024 billion were received in the real sector of the economy of Armenia. The growth was 36.6% year-on-year. Of these, almost $ 328 million came in the form of FDI (with an annual growth of 26.3%). As explained in the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, in the first quarter, $ 516.7 million (including FDI - $ 194 million) was received, and in the II quarter - $ 507.7 million (including FDI - $ 133.9 million). In February 2017, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan announced the possibility of attracting investments of $ 3.2 billion in the coming years. Of these, 830 - 840 million are expected this year.
