ArmInfo. Electricity production in Armenia in January-August 2017 amounted to 5123.1 million kWh, an increase of 6.6% in the annual section, but only in August it decreased by 0.1% to 632.6 million kWh.
According to Armenian National Statistics service data, in January-August 2017 TPPs increased electricity generation by 73.1% per annum - up to 1833.1 million kWh. At the same time, HPPs reduced electricity generation by 0.8% to 1678.3 million kWh. The Armenian nuclear power plant - by 21.5% - to 1610.4 million kWh. During the reporting period, 64.2 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were produced, with an annual growth of 25.1%. Wind power plants produced 1.3 million kWh of electricity in the reporting period, which is 30% higher than the figure for the previous year.
