MIT experts will help Armenia in stimulating development of Gyumri

ArmInfo. On October 5, Armenian  Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received the dean of the Faculty of  Architecture and Urban Planning of the Massachusetts Institute of  Technology Hashim Sarkis and a specialist in urban planning,  Professor Brent Ryan.

According to the press service of Armenian Government, during the  meeting the prospects of cooperation in the direction of development  of Gyumri were discussed. MIT specialists noted that they arrived in  Armenia at the invitation of the Tumo Creative Technologies Center in  order to get acquainted with the possibilities of the second city of  Armenia and develop innovative approaches aimed at stimulating the  development of Gyumri.  Karen Karapetyan presented his vision of the  city development, stressing that Gyumri has the necessary potential  to become one of Armenia's business cards, and with the purposeful  work it is possible to achieve the desired result, change the mood  and atmosphere of the city.

The Head of Government welcomed the visit of MIT representatives to  Armenia and suggested discussing further steps for joint work with  the specialists of the Armenian Development Fund and the Center for  Strategic Initiatives. The prime minister expressed readiness of the  government to establish long-term effective cooperation.
