ArmInfo. On October 20-21 Tumo Center for Creative Technologies hosted Hackathon 2017, a competition of innovative ideas and programming organized by Beeline Armenia and Microsoft Innovation Center Armenia.
According to the press service of Beeline, the winning team is Lezoo, they will get USD 3,000 of prize money. Lezoo developed a solution that has both group call and simultaneous translation functions.
According to the source, the second place and prize money are shared by iterate and megista teams, who will get USD 1,000 each for their solutions.
"The teams worked very hard throughout these 24 hours and pitched really useful, interesting solutions. I believe we can consider the hackathon a success. We're grateful to all participants for showing interest in telecommunications. It's a sector that overlaps almost every other field in the 21st century, so development of telecommunications is vital for us all. Innovative and curious solutions such as these can improve the lives of many people," said Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
To note, of the teams submitting the application, 25 were selected, 25 who were to develop experimental versions of the solutions within 24 hours and submit them for evaluation to specialists. As criteria for the title of the winners were determined the innovation of the idea and the degree of practical applicability of the work, which was completed in 24 hours.
