New order of medicinal products circulation established in Armenia

ArmInfo. A new procedure for  the circulation of medicines has been established in Armenia. The  Government of Armenia approved the draft decision submitted by the RA  Ministry of Health, "On the forms of prescriptions, the procedure for  issuing prescriptions and dispensing medicines in pharmacies  (including the electronic version), as well as on the treatment of  medicines and medicines and invalidating Government Decision No. 759  of August 14 2001.

According to Armenian Healthcare Ministry press service, in the  document regulating the circulation of medicines, the rules for  prescribing medicines containing drugs and psychotropic substances,  for medicines issued free of charge or on preferential terms, for  taking prescriptions and for dispensing medicines, and for the form  of prescriptions in accordance with the new law "On medicines". In  the current order, these rules are described incomplete or absent.  The document developed 4 prescription forms. The prescription remains  in the pharmacy for further monitoring and monitoring. Under the new  order, the original names of the medicinal product and their analogs  (generics) will be written in recipes. In the pharmacy, the buyer  must provide information about all drugs with a similar active  substance, including prices. Simultaneously, the procedure for  prescribing drugs containing narcotic substances was simplified. They  can be prescribed by both family doctors and treating doctors,  regardless of specialty. The new order of treatment of medicinal  products will come into force three months after the official  publication. Out of 4,723 medicines registered in Armenia, 3,632,  including antibiotics, will be prescribed by prescription.
