Andrei Belyaninov takes the post of EDB BoardChairman

ArmInfo. Andrei  Belyaninov took up the post of Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian  Development Bank (EDB). The corresponding decision was made at regular  meeting of  EDB  Council, which was held in Astana on November 15 this year.

As to EDB press service information shared with   ArmInfo, the EDB  Council work was participated by: on behalf of the Republic of  Armenia - the Minister of Finance V.Aramyan; on the part of the  Republic of Belarus - the Minister of Finance V.Amarin; On the part  of the Republic of Kazakhstan -  the Prime Minister, Chairman of the  Council of the Bank - A. Sagintayev, also the Minister of Finance of  the Republic of Kazakhstan B.Sultanov; from the Kyrgyz Republic - the  Minister of Finance A. Kasymaliev; on behalf of the Russian  Federation - the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation A.  Siluanov; on the part of the Republic of Tajikistan -the  Minister of  Finance K. Kurbonien.

During the meeting, the Bank board  also discussed current and  prospective directions of the EDB's activities, issues of cooperation  with international financial institutions and implementation of joint  integration projects.

Andrei Yuri  Belyaninov was born on July 14, 1957 in Moscow, USSR. In  1978 he graduated  the Moscow Institute of National Economy after  Plekhanov, majoring in finance and credit, an economist. In 2005 he  received a doctorate in economics, in 2015 - a doctor of political  science. After the institute he was invited to work in the KGB of the  USSR. He worked in a number of foreign countries, in the second half  of the 1980s - an employee of the USSR Embassy in the GDR. In  1992-1994 years. - Deputy Chairman of the Board of "REA-Bank",  1994-1999. - Deputy Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Board of  "Novikombank". Since 1999 - Deputy Director General of FSUE  "Promexport", 2004-2006. - Director of the Federal Service for  Defense Order. In 2006-2016 years. - Head of the Federal Customs  Service. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international  financial organization established by Russia and Kazakhstan in  January 2006 to promote the development of the market economy of the  participating countries, their sustainable economic growth and the  expansion of mutual trade and economic relations.  The Member States  of the Bank are the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the  Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation  and the Republic of Tajikistan.

To recall, while occupying the post of the Federal Customs Service  (FCS) head, Belyaninov in  summer of 2016 was in the center of  attention of  FSB and  Russian Defense Ministry. According to  Gazeta.ru, during searches in the house of the Head of the FCS, shoe   boxes filled with cash  money and old pictures had been found,    which he called "family savings", . Investigative actions were  related to the criminal case of smuggling elite alcohol in Russia,  which was investigated against the head of the Forum holding  D.Mihalchenko. So  Belyaninov had to resign. For the post of  of  EDB  head  Beliyaminov was proposed by the Chairman of the RF Government  Medvedev.
