Armenia to boost second stage of FEZ Meghri construction

ArmInfo. It is necessary to  quickly complete the second stage of FEZ development in Meghri. Prime  Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan delivered a corresponding  instruction on December 21 at a government meeting.

The prime minister recalled that on December 15, the official launch  of FEZ was given.  According to the approved project, the  construction of a free economic zone is planned to be completed in 2  stages. At the first stage, the minimum necessary conditions for its  work and organization of work with companies interested in the  activities of FEZ on the ground were created. At the second stage, it  is planned to expand the territory by 70 hectares and create all  necessary conditions for profitable activity. From the  above-mentioned territories, about 50 hectares will be provided for  operators' activities, 10 ha for logistic and storage areas, and  other territories for office and other services. 

In this regard, Karen Karapetyan instructed the Ministers of Foreign  Affairs, Economic Development and Investments, Energy Infrastructures  and Natural Resources, Territorial Development and Management, the  Heads of the State Revenue Committee, the State Committee for Water  Resources and the State Committee of the Cadastre of Armenia to take  measures to provide the necessary infrastructure, work to ensure,  through the diplomatic representatives of the RA, the widest possible  notice of the benefits of SEZ, its trade and logistics possibilities  and current favorable economic conditions.
