Armenian government has developed a special "bonus" system for future investors in the construction of small reservoirs

ArmInfo.Armenia plans to build  about a dozen small and medium- sized reservoirs. Projects are ready,  business for small - for search of investors. And to motivate them,  as the head of the State Water Management Committee of Armenia Arsen  Harutyunyan stated, when answering ArmInfo's question, the government  developed a special "bonus" system for future investors.

According to Harutyunyan, the program of construction of 11 new small  reservoirs in Armenia has already been summed up. 4 of them are  planned to be built in the Vayozdzor region, two in Tavush and  Gegharkunik, the rest in the Armavir region. The total budget will be  40 billion drams (about $ 83 million).  The implementation of the  project, as noted by the head of the waterworks, three international  organizations are interested, and at this stage they are considering  the package presented by the Armenian government.

In addition, it is planned to restore the reservoir in Sevaberd, in  the Kotayk region of Armenia. The total capacity of the reservoir  will be 6 million cubic meters. The cost of the program is estimated  at 2 billion drams ($ 4 million). The investor for the project is  already known - in the person of two or three local companies. The  design works of Sevaberd have already started, and within a month it  is planned to complete them.

The Armenian government plans to implement these projects at the  expense of private investors. It is important that the state  undertakes to purchase water from these reservoirs at a higher  tariff. The investor will also be allowed to build hydroelectric  power stations on the territory, develop fish farms, eco-tourism.
