Trade turnover between Ukraine and Armenia for the first time in 4 years reached an upward trend

ArmInfo. The foreign trade  turnover between Armenia and Ukraine following the results of 2017  reached an upward trend. The last time the growth of trade turnover  between the countries was fixed in 2013. According to the National  Statistical Service of Armenia, the trade turnover of the  Armenian-Ukrainian mutual trade amounted to $ 129.1 million, with  annual growth of 17.5%. In particular, exports increased by 30% to $  10.5 million, with imports increasing by 16.5% to $ 118.6 million.

"I hope that the significant decline that occurred in recent years  has been overcome. Such dynamics of the Ukrainian-Armenian trade  turnover is primarily related to the improvement of the economic  situation in Armenia. After all, the lion's share of trade (over 90%)  is Ukrainian import to Armenia. An attentive buyer knows and respects  Ukrainian goods, including food products, confectionery, juices and,  of course, Ukrainian vodka, "said Denis Avtonomov, Charge d'Affaires  ad interim of Ukraine in Armenia, in an interview with ArmInfo.

However, according to the Ukrainian diplomat, the potential of trade  and economic relations has not been fully utilized. In this regard,  he recalled that the trade turnover between Armenia and Ukraine  exceeded $ 300 million 10 years ago. "We are constantly working to  establish direct contacts between Ukrainian and Armenian businessmen,  as well as to prepare for the next meeting of the Ukrainian- Armenian  intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation," Avtonomov  concluded.
