Scientists and economists discuss deepening financial integration in  EAEU at International Conference at RAU

ArmInfo. Numerous issues and problems of integration of the EAEU member countries were discussed at the  international scientific conference entitled "Deepening financial integration in the EAEU" held today at the Russian-Armenian University(RAU).

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and Deputy Prime  Minister of the Russian Federation Overchuk addressed the conference  participants via video link, who noted the importance of forming a  common financial market for the full implementation of freedom of  movement of goods, services, labor and capital. As the Deputy Prime  Minister of Russia noted in his address, the importance of further  development of integration processes within the EAEU for the period  until 2045 is determined by the declaration of the "Eurasian Economic  Path", adopted by the heads of state at the end of last year. This  declaration reflects the vision of building a future of sovereign and  independent states. In accordance with this vision, the EAEU will  become self-sufficient and harmoniously developed and attractive,  possessing scientific, technical and intellectual leadership. He  recalled that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of  the agreement on the creation of the EAEU. He thanked the leadership  of Armenia for its active position in deepening the integration of  the Union member countries.

Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian  Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, who participated at the conference,  noted that the basis of any business, just like education, is  science, which is well understood at the Russian-Armenian University,  where a more comfortable, more modern environment is formed for  teachers and students of RAU . He said that yesterday, another round  of negotiations took place with the leadership of the RA Ministry of  Education and Science, where it was decided to extend the powers of  the RAU rector, Professor Edward Sandoyan, for another four years. He  expressed confidence that the university has great potential as a  flagship of scientific and educational cooperation between the two  countries.

In his response speech, RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan thanked the  leadership of the two ministries for their high assessment of the  University's activities, for their support and patience, because, as  he jokingly put it, "it's not so easy to work with us, we have to not  only be supported, but also endured."

During the conference, scientists and economists from the EAEU  countries gave speeches:  Alexander Shirov, Director of the Institute  of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences,  Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, on the topic  "The World Economy in the Conditions of Increasing Regionalization";  First Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics RAS,  Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Science Mikhail  Golovnin-  on the topic "Challenges for the financial integration of  the EAEU in the context of fragmentation of the world economy".  Former Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan, former Minister of  Economy of the Republic of Armenia Armen Yeghiazaryan, Associate   Professor of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University  Irina Rudskaia, other scientists are economists from Kyrgyzstan,  Belarus and Armenia also spoke at the conference.
