ArmInfo. On April 29, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan received Eugene Rhuggenaath, Executive Director at the World Bank Group representing the Constituency of Armenia and other several countries.
According to the press service of the RA government, during the meeting the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of Armenia's cooperation with the World Bank, noting that the WB is not only a donor organization, but also an important partner for Armenia, with the support of which key reforms are being implemented in the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented the WB representative with the government's vision for the development of critical sectors. In particular, he spoke about existing problems and planned reforms in the areas of education, healthcare, and the capital market.
Armenia has been a member of the World Bank since 1992, and a member of the of the International Development Association (IDA) since 1993. As of today, the World Bank has provided the republic with loans and grants totaling over $2.5 billion.
