Total net profit of 12 Armenian insurance companies for 2009 amounted to $2.6 mln


ArmInfo. Total net profit of 12 Armenian insurance companies for 2009 amounted to 967 mln drams or $2.6 mln, which was 33% more than in 2008. Alfa-Insurance, ISG and RESO companies suffered 829 million drams total loss for 2009, whereas total profit of the remaining 9 insurance companies exceeded 1.8 bln drams.

Ranking of Armenian Insurance Companies prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo) says the leader by net profit was INGO Armenia - 452 mln drams. Garant Limens ensured the minimal size of net profit - 31 mln drams.

Return of Equity of the 12 insurance companies totaled 8% and Return on Assets - 6% for 2009. Nairi Insurance showed the highest level of ROE and ROA: 45# and 27%, respectively.
