Armenian insurance companies collect $21 mln for 2009


ArmInfo. Total insurance premiums collected by 12 insurance companies in Armenia amounted to 8.1 bln drams ($21 mln) in 2009, which was 4% higher than in 2008.

Ranking of Armenian Insurance Companies prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo) says the leaders by insurance premiums for 2009 were INGO-Armenia - 1.7 bln drams, ISG - 1.6 bln drams and Cascade Insurance - 1.1 bln drams. Alfa-Insurance collected the lowest size of insurance premiums for 2009 - 107 mln drams.

The indemnities for 2009 grew 48% to 1.9 bln drams. INGO-Armenia and RASCO were the leaders by 464 mln drams and 422 mln drams indemnities, respectively.
