ATM market in Armenia has a great potential

The potential of the Armenian ATM market allows to introduce more than 70 cash machines per year, deputy director of banking technologies of the Russian "Lanit" company, Aleksey Kudrin, said at today's presentation of the last models of ATM of American Diebold company in Yerevan. In particular, TCR (Teller cash recycler) cash-machines were presented.
He also added that Diebold already has permanent customers among the Armenian banks, and there is potential for extension of cooperation with other banks. He said that TCR, having 100% safety, makes its possible to automatize the work of a cashier with a help of a modern terminal for receiving and giving of money. may be supplied with 4 or 5 cassettes plus the cassette of the forgotten and waste paper currency with a room up to 2000 units of paper currency", - he said.
For his part, deputy director of Armenian Card, Gagik Grigoryan, said that today cash machine of three companies - Diebold, NCR and Wincor Nixdorf have been introduced in the Armenian market. "All the cash machine have certificates PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). The ATM have possibility of video monitoring. The control board and security level of these ATM is satisfactory", - he said. As for the bank cards, Grigoryan assured that till today no card emitted by Armenian banks, was falsified, only the cards issued in abroad were
falsified.

According to the date of Armenian Card, as of 1 March 2010 there were 600 AMT in ArCa system. The number of the plastic cards emitted by the Armenian Card member-banks amounted to 464622 units as of 1 March 2010.
