Armenian banks lent 17.9 billion drams and 23.8 million US dollars over last week
ArmInfo. Armenian banks lent 17.9 billion drams and 23.8 million US dollars over the last week (Mar 15-21), the Armenian Central Bank told ArmInfo.  
The source reported that over the current week (March 22-26) in the inter-bank currency market (transactions with clients) banks purchased $63.698 million at the average exchange rate of 396.46AMD/1USD and sold $60.311 million at the average exchange rate of 398.43/1USD. Foreign exchange purchase and sale in the inter-bank market for March 22-26 totaled $16.250 million at the average exchange rate of 393.59 AMD/1 USD. For the period under review (Mar 22-26) foreign exchange operations at NASDAQ OMX Armenia totaled $305.000 at the average exchange rate of 398.52 AMD/1USD.  
As of Jan 1 2010 the aggregate credit portfolio of commercial banks of Armenia totaled 778.2 billion drams or 42.1 billion growing 20.4% over the  year, 7.7% over Q4 versus 51.1% annual growth for 2008 and 3,6% growth for Q4 2008.
