61,6% growth of volume of crediting by banks and UCC in Armenia in 1Q 2010
ArmInfo. Volume of crediting by commercial banks and credit companies in Armenia in Jan-Mar 2010, as compared to the similar period of 2009, grew by 61,6% to total of 152.6 bln drams.
As ACRA National Credit Bureau told ArmInfo, the lion's share of investments of the total volume of the provided credits has been made by commercial banks - 95,1% or 145.1 bln drams for the 1st quarter of 2010. The volume of crediting by banks for 1Q, 2010, as compared to the similar period of 2009, grew by 61,5%.
The volume of crediting by Armenia's credit companies in Jan-Mar 2010, as compared to the similar period of 2009 grew by 63% to 7.5 bln drams.
In quantitative terms, commercial banks and credit companies extended 192403 credits in 1Q 2010, having exceeded the indicator of the 1st quarter of 2009 by 32,1%, including, commercial banks extended 178447 credits over the reporting period (31,3% annual growth), and credit companies - 13956 credits (42,7% annual growth).
There was an information available in ACRA Credit Bureau as of April 1, 2010, of over 2.7 mln repaid and 667,000 current credits provided by banks and credit companies, as well as the data about 947.8 thsd credit histories (18.3 thsd of which are histories of legal entities and 929.5 thsd - of individual persons).
To note, as of March 1, 2010, there were 22 commercial banks functioning in Armenia, as well as 27 credit companies, 22 of which are universal, 4 - leasing companies and 1 credit union.
