ArmInfo. Last week (5-11 April) Armenian banks provided loans worth 12 bln AMD and $31.9 mln, the press-service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (12-16 April) the banks bought $44.036 mln at the average exchange rate of 394,95 AMD/$1, and sold $52.598 mln at the average exchange rate of 396.86 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $11.190 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 394,98 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia, the biggest volume was fixed on 12 and 13 April ($2.7 mln and $2.75 mln respectively). No currency purchase and sale operations were carried out in the interbank currency market from 12 till 16 April.
According to ArmInfo, as of 1 Jan 2010 the summary provision of crediting of the banking system of Armenia amounted to 778.2 bln AMD or $2.1 bln, having annually increased by 20,4%, and over Q4 - by 7,7%, whereas in 2008 the annual growth made up 51,1% and the growth over Q4 made up 3,6%.
