Armenian Central Bank: Inflation in Armenia in 2010 to make up 6,2%
ArmInfo. Central Bank of Armenia forecasts 6,2% inflation by late 2010, and 5,9% inflation by late 1Q, 2011, Central Bank's monetary policy programme for 2Q, 2010, says.
According to the source, the risks on deviation of inflation forecasts have been revised towards their increase in view of growth of internal demand more than the forecasted one because of quick recovery of the world economy, as well as in view of high international prices for mining-raw and food products. Under these conditions, Central Bank will keep on stiffening the monetary policy to form positive real interest rates, which will be preserved during the whole forecasted period. As regards control of inflation, an importance is also attached to implementation of anti-crisis measures by the government of Armenia through reduction of the budget deficit and maintenance of the current positive rates of tax collection.
To recall, 1,3% inflation was fixed in the consumer market of Armenia in April 2010, and 4,2% inflation - in January-April.
