Over Jan-Apr 2010 Armenian credit companies doubled summary loan portfolio
ArmInfo. Over Jan-Apr 2010 the summary loan portfolio of Armenian credit companies grew over twice as compared with Jan-Apr 2009, and in April - by 59% as compared with March, having amounted to 11.9 bln AMD.
ACRA National Credit Bureau told ArmInfo that the number of loans provided by credit companies over Jan-Apr 2010 grew by 69,6% to 12616 loans. As of 1 May 2010, the ACRA credit bureau had information about 2.8 mln repaid and 681 thsd current loans, as well as 949 thsd credit histories (of them 19 thsd being histories of legal entities, and 930 thsd - of individuals).
To note, as of 1 April 2010, there were 28 credit companies in Armenia, of them 4 leasing companies, 23 universal credit organizations and 1 credit union.
To recall, ACRA Credit Reporting was set up in 2004 by Credential Inc. Today its shareholders are the Central Bank of Armenia (10%), 17 commercial banks, the First Mortgage Company, the US Dun & Bradstreet International LTD and other companies. All the 22 commercial banks of Armenia and most of credit companies use the services of ACRA Crdedit Reporting.
