Leading insurers of Armenia signed 19853 agreements in I quarter 2010, fees from which made up 1.8 bln drams
ArmInfo. Insurance of those leaving abroad remains the most demanding type of insurance in Armenia, in particular, the share of segment on the agreements signed made up 32% (6270 agreements) in I quarter 2010.
According to the Ranking of Armenia's insurance companies, prepared by Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), insurance of property risks, the share of which in the total number of the agreements signed made up 18%, is in the second place by demand, insurance of overland transport (CASCO) with 15% share, is in the third place. Total number of the agreements signed in I quarter 2010 by 9 insurers (less regard to RECO) made up 19853, the insurance amount on which exceeded 864 tln drams.
The volume of fees of 9 insurance companies for the reporting quarter exceeded 1.8 bln drams on 12 activated non-life insurance classes. Automobile insurance, the fees on which exceeded 436 mln drams, leads by the level of premiums. Almost an equal volume of fees has been assured in a segment of insurance of medical and property risks (390 mln and 385 mln drams respectively). Minimum premiums were gathered by insurers from the provided guarantees, that was forecasted as a result of stiffening of the standard by regulator.
Nine insurers paid indemnifications on 4254 insurance cases to 297.5 mln drams over the reporting quarter. Maximum volume of indemnifications has been paid on CASCO segments (117 mln drams on 269 insurance cases) and medical insurance (112 mln drams on 3757 cases).
