Armenian Central Bank: Dollarization growth rates slow down in Armenia
ArmInfo. The dollarization growth rates have reduced in April of the current year in Armenia. The growth of the dram deposits by 1,6% over the reported month is evidence of it, whereas the dollar deposits grew just by 0,8%, this was announced at the sitting of Central Bank Council, as press-service of the bank reported.
The volumes of foreign currency crediting continue dominating over the dram crediting. In the conditions of high level of dollarization and tightening of the crediting conditions by the Central Bank since the beginning of the current year, at the initial market of the state bonds profitability of bonds with a wiping off term 1 year has grown by 1,6 points having reached 10,7%; and for the bonds with a wiping off term 3-5 years - by 0,93 points - up to 14,8%. At the same time, the REPO rates have grown by 2,2 points at the inter-bank market.
According to the Ranking of Armenian commercial banks prepared by ArmInfo, as of 1 April 2010 the sum credit portfolio of the Armenian banking system amounted to 830.6 bln drams, investments in government stocks - 84.3 bln drams and the portfolio of the time deposits - 455.3 bln drams.
