Accumulated loss of Armenian Central Bank reduced by 19,2% for 1Q, 2010 to $132 million
ArmInfo. Accumulated loss of Armenian Central Bank reduced by 19,2% for 1Q, 2010 to 52.8 bln drams or $132 mln.
According to Armenian CB press service data provided to ArmInfo, Central Bank's total capital for 1Q 2010 grew by 37,8% to 41.8 bln drams or $104.5 mln. Quarterly growth of the capital has been conditioned by reduction of the accumulated loss, under 76,9% growth of the reserve of revaluation of assets, allowable to sale, from minus 1.4 bln drams to minus 2.5 bln drams. The main reserve, emission capital and additional authorized capital of Armenia's Central Bank did not change - 11.4 bln drams, 100 mln drams and 85.7 bln drams, respectively.
According to the source, total reserves of Central Bank reduced by 0,3% over 1Q 2010 to $2.6 bln or 1027.5 bln drams, 822.3 bln drams of which ($2.1 bln) fell on foreign exchange holdings, and 205.1 bln drams ($512.2 mln) - on dram assets. Foreign exchange holdings over the reporting quarter grew by 0,8%, and dram assets reduced by 4,3%. Annual growth in foreign exchange holdings has been fixed on almost all the items, moreover, the most considerable - on the funds allocated in banks and other financial organizations - by 40,2% to 310.8 bln drams. Quarterly fall on financial instruments, taken into
account according to the real value, the profit and loss from recalculation of which is taken into account in the reporting, made up 13,1% to 399.1 bln drams, and the volume of assets, being kept till the repayment date, has been zeroed (against 25.2 bln drams as of January 1, 2010). The maximum quarterly fall in dram assets has been fixed on credits and reverse repurchase-agreements - by 14,5% to 60.5 bln drams, and the maximum growth - on tangible assets - by 16,5% to 0.5 bln drams. Total commitments of Central Bank reduced by 1,5% over 1Q, 2010, to $2.5 bln, or 985.6 bln drams, among which
exchange commitments - 302.6 bln drams ($755.5 mln), and dram commitments - 683.1 bln drams ($1.7 bln). Moreover, dram commitments reduced by 5,7% over the reporting period under 9,7% growth of exchange ones. In the structure of exchange commitments, quarterly growth has been fixed on all items, except for other commitments, moreover, maximum growth fell commitments to the government - almost 13 times to 16.4 bln drams. Quarterly fall has been fixed in dram
commitments on almost all the items, moreover, the maximum one fell on deposits and accounts - by 27,9% to 38.3 bln drams, as well as convertible banknotes and coins - by 13,8% to 276.4 bln drams. Dram commitments to IMF grew by 10,9% over the reporting quarter to 191.4 bln drams, under insignificant fall of dram commitments to the government - by 0,7% to 176 bln drams.
According to Armenian CB data, the accumulated loss upon the results of 2009 made up 65.4 bln drams, total capital -30.4 bln drams. Armenian CB assets as of January 1, 2010 made up 1030.6 bln drams, among which exchange holdings - 816.1 bln drams and dram assets - 214.4 bln drams. Total commitments of Central Bank as of this date made up 1000.2 bln drams, among which exchange commitments - 275.8 bln drams and dram ones - 724.5 bln drams.
