Private transfers grow in Armenia
ArmInfo. The volume of transfers of the non-commercial nature by individual persons through the banking system of Armenia in Jan-Mar 2010 totaled $203 mln having grown by 11% as against the same period of 2009. According to Armenian Central Bank, the volume of transfers by individual persons from abroad to Armenia totaled $46.2 mln, having grown by 14,6% as against the same period of 2009. As a result, the inflow of private transfers to Armenia amounted to $157.3 mln having grown by 9,6% as against Jan-March 2009.
The lion's share of transfers from abroad to Armenia, 76,4% or $155.6 mln, were implemented from Russia, having grown by 10,4% as against the same period of 2009. Then comes the USA - $14.2 mln (7% out of the total volume), having increased by 23.6%. Then follows Ukraine - $3.8 mln (1.3% annual growth), Kazakhstan - $2,8 mln (0.5% growth) and France - $2,1 mln (61.5% growth).
The total of $24 mln were transferred from Armenia to Russia in the 1Q 2010 against $21 mln in the 1Q 2009. Then comes the USA - $5.6 mln against $5.3 mln in Jan-March 2009, Ukraine - $3 mln against $2 mln, UAE -$1,5 mln. Incidentally the volume of the private transfers from Armenian to china grew by 25% in Jan-March 2010 up to $1.2 mln.
According to results of 2009 the net inflow of transfers by individual persons to Armenia amounted to $929.2 mln, the volume of transfers to the republic amounted to $1.124 bln and from the republic - $195 mln.
The total of 22 commercial banks have been functioning at the territory of Armenia at present via the following systems UNIStream, Anelik, Contact, MoneyGram, Migom, Leader, etc.
