In Jan-June 2010 UNIStream's turnover in Armenia totalled $216.5mln
ArmInfo. In Jan-June 2010 UNIStream's turnover in Armenia totalled $216.5mln against $216.7mln in Jan-June 2009. 321,305 money transfer transactions were carried out during the period against 307,543 a year before.
The press service of Unibank reports that UNIStream is still the leader of Armenia's money transfer market.
In an interview to ArmInfo Chairman of the Board of Unibank Vardan Atayan said that the quantity of money transfer transactions has grown while their amount has decreased: in June 2009 UNIStream's turnover totalled $50.2mln while the number of transactions was 65,300, in June 2010 the indices were $49.8mln and 67,200, respectively. This means that the average size of one money transfer has dropped from $1,000 to $500-600 mostly because the earnings of Armenians working in Russia and Ukraine are declining owing to the crisis.
Meanwhile, UNIStream has reduced the tariff for money transfers exceeding 3,000 USD, EUR or 100,000 RUR to 0.45%. The tariff for smaller sums is 1%. The tariff for AMD money transfers from Russia is 0.35% irrespective of the size.
UNIStream system covers all 33 branches of Unibank. Three branches - Amiryan, Komitas and Malatia - provide services from 09:15 AM to 08:30 PM. By means of UNIStream Unibank's customers can pay for imported foods, pay bills, repay loans, replenish bank and card accounts. UNIStream's permanent clients can borrow U-Stream loans (up to $5,000).
Since 2002 Unibank has been UNIStream's exclusive partner in Armenia.
