Unibank intends to introduce ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standards
ArmInfo. To ensure a high-level IT management system, Unibank (Armenia) is shortly going to introduce ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standards, which determine special requirements to information security of the management, launch and control system in the context of business risks, the Unibank press service told ArmInfo.
The source said that in the IT role is gradually growing in the banking system of Armenia. To raise the efficiency of client servicing, the banks have started paying more attention to use of novelties in the IT sphere and ensuring high criteria of IT security.
In this aspect Unibank was the one of the first banks to offer the "Internet Bank-Client" services to its clients and manage their accounts via internet. The given system provides the clients with full-fledged banking services online, gives them an opportunity to insert the necessary documents, edit and pint, deliver the documents to the bank, carry out transactions in the "transaction day" mode. The security of Unibank's system "Internet Bank-Client" is ensured by the well-known certificate VeriSign Secure Site Pro with EV.
The certificate is based on EV and SGC technologies, which are currently the most successful method of fighting phishing. In the browser the VeriSign Secure Site Pro with EV certificate reflects the location bar and the name of the bank in green instead of red, thereby by 100% excluding all the fraud attempts by the third person. International experts say that if the bank's website is protected by the VeriSign technology and has the logotype of this certificate, the users may be sure of the security of data transmission.
Unibank has recently announced that it is going to create its own processing center, which will allow the bank to extend the spectrum of the cards issued by the bank, as well as to increase the security level and quality of card servicing. Investments in this project exceeded 1 mln USD.
The Unibank branch network's connection to the online mode has also become a large project in IT sphere. Now all the branches of Unibank are connected to the general database and work online, thanks to which the clients can carry out their transactions at any branch of the bank. This is convenient especially for the people using the UNIStream money transfer system.
