Over May 2010 real effective exchange rate grew by 7.5%
ArmInfo. The real effective exchange rate in Armenia grew by 7,5% over May 2010 as compared with April, and by 9,1% as compared with December 2009, having totaled 132.2, says the monthly report of the Central Bank of Armenia.
At the same time, in May 2010 the real effective exchange rate fell by 1.8% as compared with May 2009. To recall, over 2009 the decline in this index was fixed from March to November, growth was fixed in January, February and December, and in 2010 decline was registered in March, growth was registered in January, February, April, May.
In May 2010 the nominal effective exchange rate grew by 6,6% as compared with April, and by 6% as compared with December 2009, having totaled 223.6. At the same time, in May 2010 the nominal effective exchange rate fell by 0,2% as compared with May 2009. In 2009 decline in the nominal effective exchange rate was fixed from March to December, and in 2010 – only in March.
