ArmInfo. Last week (11-17 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 17.4 bln AMD and $27.8 mln, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (18-22 October) the banks bought $67.464 mln at the average exchange rate of 359,77 AMD/$1, and sold $74.513 mln at the average exchange rate of 360.97 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $11.450 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 360,20 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 19, 20 and 21 October - $2.3 mln, $3.450 mln and $2.7 mln respectively.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $500 thsd were carried out at the average exchange rate of 360,30 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 18-22 October.
To note, as of 1 July 2010, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 838.9 bln AMD or $2.3 bln, having increased by 2,3% over Q2 2010 (against 6,7% growth over Q1 2010 and almost 3% decline over Q2 2009), and by 29,3% as compared with the same period of 2009.
