Armenia will never have "classical" model of securities market


ArmInfo. Armenia will never have a "classical" model of securities market. Instead of it, the securities market might become a part of the international - European, Russian or even Chinese markets, director on development of Ameriabank, Tigran Jrbashyan told ArmInfo correspondent. "I can hardly imagine formation of the American, European or even Russian type securities market in Armenia. At the same time, securities market of our country may become an element of transformation of the internal and external borrowings - capital inflow", - he said and added such a practice is spread in the countries similar to Armenia by the size, cultural traditions and industrial infrastructure.

Certain legislative changes and specific steps for creation and development of the relevant institutional infrastructure are necessary to make this goal true, he said. "Much should be done, but the situation is not hopeless.
