Over Jan-Aug 2010 real effective exchange rate up 12,1%
ArmInfo. According to the monthly reference book of the Central Bank of Armenia, in August 2010 the real effective exchange rate grew slightly, and over Jan-Aug – by 12,1% to 135.74. In August 2010 the growth of real effective exchange rate made up 10.7% as compared with August 2009. Over 2010 decline in this index was registered only in March and July, whereas over 2009 decline was fixed from March till November, and growth was fixed in January, February and December.
At the same time, the nominal effective exchange rate fell by 0,7% in August 2010, and grew by 9,8% over Jan-Aug 2010, having totaled 231.53. As compared with August 2009, the nominal effective exchange rate rose by 5,4% in August 2010. Over 2010 decline of the nominal effective exchange rate was fixed only in March, July and August, whereas over 2009 decline was fixed from March till December.
