Oct 1 2010 the shares of foreign exchange loans and foreign exchange time deposits made up 55.7% and 80.4%, respectively
ArmInfo. Oct 1 2010 the share of foreign exchange loans in the total real sector lending portfolio made up 55.7% - 4.2% rise in Jan-Sept 2010, 2.1% growth in Q3 2010 and 3% more than in Jan-Sept 2009.
The monthly report of the Central Bank of Armenia reports that this index dropped only in Jan and Apr 2010 - from 51.1% to 50.9% and from 52.6% to 52.1%, respectively. In Sept 2010 it was the highest.
In Jan-Sept 2010 the Armenian banks lent 857bln AMD (7.4% growth in Q3 2010), of which 824.2bln AMD to residents (7% growth in Q3 2010). 56% of the loans were given to legal entities against 53% at the beginning of this year. Most of the foreign exchange credits were long-term loans given mainly to food industry, mining, construction material production, power engineering and trade.
Oct 1 2010 the share of residents' foreign exchange deposits in the money supply made up 43.9% - 1.1% drop in Jan-Sept 2010, 1% drop in Q3 2010 and 0.4% more than in Jan-Sept 2009. This index grew in Jan, Feb and Mar 2010 (from 45% to 50.9%). In Mar 2010 it was the highest - 50.9%.
Oct 1 2010 the share of foreign exchange deposits in the total residents' deposit portfolio made up 65.8% - 2.7% less than in Jan 2010, 2.9% less than in June 2010 and 0.2% more than in Jan-Sept 2009. In Jan-Feb and Mar 2010 the index grew from 68.5% to 72.7%. In Mar it was the highest - 72.7%.
Oct 1 2010 the share of residents' foreign exchange call deposits in the total call deposit portfolio made up 60.1% - 1.7% drop in Jan-Sept 2010, 0.6% rise in Q3 2010 and 4.9% less than in Jan-Sept 2009. In Jan 2010 the index grew from 61.8% to 63.8%, in Mar 2010 from 61.8% to 66.4% and in Aug 2010 - from 58.3% to 60.3%. In Mar 2010 it was the highest - 66.4%.
Oct 1 2010 the share of residents' foreign exchange time deposits in the total time deposit portfolio made up 80.4% - 2.4% drop in Jan-Sept 2010, 1.1% drop in Q3 2010, 1.8% less than in Jan-Sept 2009. In Jan, Feb and Mar 2010 the index grew from 82.5% to 83.6%. In Mar 2010 it was the highest - 83.6%.
Deposits worth 650.8bln AMD (3.7% growth in Q3 2010) were placed at the Armenian banks in Jan-Sept 2010, of which 537.6bln AMD by residents (217.3bln AMD were call deposits, 320.3bln AMD - time deposits).
