Index of economic activity down 33% for 4Q in Armenia
ArmInfo. Index of economic activity down 33% for 4Q in Armenia and stopped at the level of 73% (against 106% in 2009).
As press-service of Armenian Central Bank reported, the index of business climate reduced by 3,3% as against the 3Q - to 95% (against 98,3%), the index of consumers' trust grew by 4,9% for the 4Q - up to 102,1% (against 97,2% at the same period of 2009). As against the 4Q 2009 all the composite indexes grew: index of economic activity by 8,7% up to 114,5%; index of consumers' trust - by 5,7% up to 108%; and index of business climate - by 3,2% up to 107,7%.
The number of workers and average salary will not change in the 1Q 2011 the industrial sector. But growth of prices and capacities is expected. The assessment of respondents from the construction sector, trade and services sphere has reduced. It is of the seasonal nature. By the index of the business climate, growth was fixed in the sphere of trade - up to 101,4%. The sphere of trade also much affected annual growth of the business climate index (123,1%). The assessment of respondents from the building sector on the index of the business climate has not changed. By the index of consumers' trust the index of the current conditions grew by 106,8% and the index of future conditions - by 108,7% as against the same period of 2009.
To recall, Central Bank of Armenia has been holding such public opinion poll since 2005 among the acting companies and household economies. The index calculation is based on the principles drawn out by the Conference Board (USA) and German IFO.
