IIP of Armenia up 3.44% to negative $5,060.05 million for Q3 2010
ArmInfo. International Investment Position (IIP) of Armenia was 3.44% or by $166.95 million to negative $5,060.05 million for Q3 2010, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports. IIP grew as liabilities were up 4.92% or $438.25 million and assets 6.71% or by $269.9 million and totaled $9351.23 million and $4291.18 million, respectively.
In the structure of assets, portfolio investment totaled $15.23 million in late Sept 2010 (up 3.74% for Q3), direct investments in foreign countries totaled $79.19 million (up 1.33% for Q3), and other investments grew 9.46% to $2344.1 million. Cash and deposits were up 10.42% to $1,994.88 million, other assets were up 13.96% to $63.73 million. Reserve assets for were up 3.68% to $1,852.65 million, including $1.809.39 million foreign exchange assets that grew 3.78% for Q3. In the structure of foreign exchange assets, the share of foreign exchange and deposits was $475.95 million (11.92% down for Q3), the share of government securities was $1333.53 million (10.84% growth for Q3).
In the liability structure, direct investment in foreign countries was up 2.14% to $3956.61 million for Q3 2010, portfolio investment was up 2.95% to $31.7 million, and other investments were up 7.08% to $5,362.92 million. Cash and deposits were up 17.18% to $423.24 million, other liabilities grew 9.07% to $210.62 million. In the structure of other investments, credits grew 6.3% to $4,666.98 million, trade financing fell 2.52% to $62.07 million.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that Armenia's IIP as of Jan 1 2010 was negative $4,059.08 million (up 11.39% for Q4) as assets totaled $4,199 million (up 4.44% for Q4) and liabilities - $8,258.07 million (up 7.74% for Q4).
