Deposits with Armenian banks up 2.7% to 41.8 billion as of Dec 1 2010
ArmInfo.   Deposits with Armenian commercial banks grew 1,1% for Nov 2010 and 1.2% for Jan-Nov 2010. As against Jan/Nov 2009 deposits grew 2.7% to 657.6 billion drams ($1.8 billion) On Dec 1 2010. In the structure of raised deposits, the share of deposits in Armenian dram was 31% or 204.4 billion drams ($570 million), the share of deposits in foreign exchange was 69% or $1.3 billion (453.2 billion drams). The share of deposits in drams was up by one percentage point.
By preliminary data of Armenian Central Bank provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the share of deposits of non-residents was 15.2% or 99.6 billion drams (down 5.6% for Nov), including 7.4 billion dram deposits in drams (1.3% decline for Nov) and 92/2 billion drams foreign exchange deposits (down 6% for Nov). 
The share of deposits of residents was 84.8% or 558 billion drams of total, including 197 billion drams deposits in terms of the national currency and 361 billion drams - foreign exchange deposits. The share of call liabilities in deposits of residents was 40.5% or 226.2 billion drams, the share of time deposits was 59.5% or 331.8 billion drams. 
Balance of population deposits as of Dec 1 2010 totaled 330.7 billion drams growing 2.3% monthly and 17.3% per year. Time deposits of the population grew 2.6% for Nov 2010 and 16.9% to 247.6 billion drams per year. 
Interest rates on deposits in terms of Armenian dram were up from 8.81% to 9.04% in Nov 2010 and by 0.45 percentage points versus the same period of 2009.
