Since the introduction of motor third party liability insurance Armenian insurers have registered 567 road accidents
ArmInfo. Since the introduction of the motor third party liability insurance in Armenia on Jan 1 2011 the local insurance companies have registered 567 road accidents, Executive Director of the Bureau of Auto Insurers of Armenia Vahan Avetisyan said in an interview to ArmInfo.
He said that the companies are failing to process the relevant data and so the Bureau does not yet have detailed information about the insurers and the insured events.
Jan 1-10 2011 the insurance companies received only 208 written applications concerning road accidents. Rosgosstrakh received 130 phone calls, 44 of which were followed by written applications. INGO Armenia received 115 calls with all of them followed by written applications. RESO received 103 calls but no written applications, Garant Limens - 58 calls and 4 written applications, Nairi Insurance - 50 and 14, Sil Insurance - 50 and 18, Cascade Insurance - 40 and 10, RASCO - 35 and 3.
Insurance indemnities are paid within 3 working days. Hence, the first payments will be made today. "There will be complaints and contradictions but there will be no cases of non-payment," Avetisyan said.
